- 00:00 – Introduction
- 06:36 – Main Topic (The Death of Expertise)
In episode ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-EIGHT Wade and Mike take a look at Tom Nichols’ book The Death of Expertise: The Campaign against Established Knowledge and Why It Matters. Nichols makes the case that ignorance may be the biggest threat to a democratic republic. The guys largely agree with Nichols’ warning and add their own (non-expert) insight. Problems with journalism, higher education, technology, consumerism, and the general skepticism towards “elite experts” in our culture are all discussed. We hope you will enjoy listening to Let the Bird Fly’s take on this critically acclaimed book.
